W E E K L Y M A S H - U P | Crêpe Coop & Mothers Moo

This week was all about meeting up with friends and trying some new places out along the way

First off, after a super yummy BBQ and dishing up some rather tasty n filling Filipino food we head to Sierra Madre... Such a pretty wee town and lots of charming stores and plenty of lovely places to eat and just hang out n chill... Love these kinda towns, similar to the good ol English life of back home

"Mothers Moo Creamery" was where we were heading, ice-cream was out sweet treat again and it didn't disappoint, mind I was in need a bit of warming up due to the drizzly grim weather that had snook over to Cali for the day.  I had a made from scratch Hot Choc with all the trimmings n it surely hit the spot, frothy moustache n nose to boot.  This place was the cutest with a great retro vibe.  They even do canning classes and workshops.

Hanging with these guys again in a weeks time as we all have a few birthdays to be celebrating, so more scrummy food n good times ahead

Next stop and a new find was "The Anaheim Packing District".  I was meeting up with my fellow Brit Pal and his lovely Wife n new baba... This area is fairly new and up coming and a defo firm fave place with me already.  It's actually not far from where I live and so I canna believe I hadn't been there sooner.  The selection of eateries and bars was awesome and the place was buzzing... Being a Brit Chick and not having found many decent Indian cuisine round these parts there was a place here "Adya" that looked and smelled the business so it had to be done and I gave it a whirl... Chicken Tikka Masala with naan n rice and hell yeah it rocked...

After plenty of great chit chat and snuggles n cuddles with the wee chappy Owen we headed down stairs to "Crêpe Coop" for the most tastiest of crêpes  EVER... So I picked the Red Velvet batter, with a slather of Trader Joes "Speculoos Cookie Butter" a handful of sliced bananas, a dollop of vanilla bean ice-cream and a drizzle of honey n a wee squirt of cream...  Oh I devoured the whole damn lot and with not a smidge of guilt, teehee

Also did a wee bit of shopping for the apartment and got some super lush bedding from good ol Ikea and YES I sure did pick me up the compulsory bag of meat balls and gravy n jam... And how about this ickle delight just to brighten the place up too... My obsession with all things cute, adorable and above all a wee PIGGY

Anyhows thats me for another weeks round up... Catch you all again next time and remember you can find me on Twitter n IG for daily updates (links above)

So what have I been upto this week then?!?

Well lets just say I have been eating WAAAY too much, but DAAAMN it's so hard when you see what delights have been tempting me.

First off Little Tokyo (more about the Hello Kitty Exhibition at the Japanese American National Museum, in a few weeks)

This place has always been one of my absolute fave places to visit when I'm back ere in LA, California... Not just for the food but for the vibe and all the wee cute and adorable ickle nic naks... So picked me up a wee Kewpie Cherub n ordered a Monchhichi for my niece (rememeber those hey?!?) from "Monkey Pants" and then had a wee munch at "Spitz", Doner Kebab heaven n being a Brit Chick I sure as hell know a thing or two bout a GOOD doner.  This place really doesn't disappoint and the variety is just amazing.  Ohhhhhhh n I can totally recommend the Sangrias too

Next stop was exploring the Art District and I was in heaven, fabulous boutique and unique shops and the graffiti and architecture was just AWESOME... All this retail therapy and trapsing about up n down the alleys I built up a smidge of an appertite so we stopped by "The Pie Hole"... OMGoodness i love it in here.  It's interior is simple, chic n industrial and the pies, well you guessed it, too many choices but i went for the Caramel Apple Cheesecake... It sure didn't hang about long, it was YUM

After all this feasting, it was time for a beer and after hearing some good stuff about bar "EightyTwo", Classic Arcade / Pinball haven, we headed off there.  Good selection of beers and it was like taking a step back to my Youff so Ms PacMan was my game of choice and I still damn well sucked at it n all, but it was a blast, real good FUN

There is far to much to see, eat and do here and there is always something new that surprises me... Really never disappoints.  All in all a FABulishious weekend... How bout y'all?!?

If it's cute, adorables n whimsical then it's got me hook, line n sinker

I've been following Alex Strangler for a while now on IG n just LOVE her work... So was chuffed to bits to say t'least (I think I let out a HUGE squeeeeeeeee) when I was able to book in with her at The Dolorosa Tattoo Company in Los Angeles

She designed me this wee sweet but bad ass unicorn covered in lots of frosting n sprinkles as t'first of m'many tattoos to have this year n t'beginning of m'sleeve... Just totally n utterly sums me up a treat n to carry on with m'sweetie love after all t'blood, sweat n tears, I went along to Milk to get me a sugar fix...

I already know what m'next couple are going to be n I plan on many more from Alex too, she ROCKS!!!

Another great memento of m'travelling back n forth from the UK to LA.

... "Thank You" 2014, you were a blast but "Hello There" 2015, I look forward to finding out what you have in store for me.

I ended 2014 celebrating until the wee hours with my bestest of besties... Fun n frolics all the way with copious amounts of alcohol and food, mind blowing games and plenty of fireworks

... and then I started 2015 jetting over the pond to SoCal

Hectic antics since Christmas but now it's time to chill out, spend time with loved ones and make plans... Plans in life, plans in work / projects and plans for my Blog / Twitter / IG

... This is where i feel the need for a BIG ass list, kinda like a New Years resolution of all the things i want and hope to achieve this coming year

So lets get this show on the road...
  1. Tattoos:  currently got 4, want many more and just going to get them on a more regular basis.  Keep telling myself there is more important things to save for and then i never end up get any.  So little and often is what i am thinking
  2. Health & Fitness:  back on the juicing train and i wanna start keeping fit, never been a fan but i wanna feel not only look healthy and fit... Age is not on my side these days so needs must
  3. Work / Projects:  push forward with more work like i already have (Customer Service within the Car Industry) but focus on the other industries and more of the SoMe side of things.  I have always been a Jake of all Trades and while the rest of the saying goes a Master of None, with me I have to disagree... Whenever i undertake anything i do it with a 100% in my heart.  I always do it to the best of my ability (and some) and i feel nothing is to hard or difficult for me to give it a go
  4. Art / Design / Creativity:  I need and want to get back to my Arty / Creative side... Doing the things we love for a living is always the best way in life.  IG has been helping me see how much i need to get creative more on a daily basis
  5. Travel:  While i am lucky with the work that i do enables me to travel I have been mainly focused on the SoCal part of the world (mind i LOVE it with all my heart) but here is to more adventures just a hop skip and a jump away in Europe
So there is just a few... Any of y'all got To-Do Lists or Resolutions for this New Year, New Beginnings?!?

so after a couple of protein and deep moisturising packs m'locks are at last back to glossy, soft n supple again... Pheeewwwww

... so to celebrate it was time to add me some colourful tint n tone

... nattering away to the Sales girlie at Salon Services (Sally's) she recommended i give La Riche Directions Semi Permanent Conditioning Hair Colour (Pastel Pink) a whirl so i bagged me a wee pot off Amazon

... i mixed it up with my Wella Professionals Recharge Shampoo & Conditioner (Cool Blonde) which has a purple colouring (keeps the brassy yellow tones away) n now i'm rockin a mix up of pinky / purpley toned hair do

...ohhh t'stresses n strains of being a Bleach Blonde Pixie (well ish, not sure being nearly 6ft qualifies as being a Pixie).  Anyhows my recent colour session didn't exactly go to plan (icky yellowy roots) and so a week later more bleach was being slapped on to my tresses.  Yes it left me with the colour I craved (clean crisp white) but feeling n looking like a birds nest...

...so off I toddled to Salon Services / Sallys Hair and Beauty to get me some Deep Conditioning Protein packs.  These cheap as chips sachets by Palmers work a treat.  I used the Coconut Oil Formula Deep Conditioning Protein Pack this time round as the hair was in desperate need; brittle, dry, frizzy and just in need of some major TLC.  Next wash i will slather on the Olive Oil Formula Deep Conditioning Pack, cos too much of a good thing can be bad and that's how it goes with the protein packs so only use when in dire need.

Gotta say m'hair isn't back to it's usually slinky n healthy (considering the trauma i put it through) self, but happy with t'result n using the Olive Oil one is only gona improve it some more...

...once back to it's usually perky self m'next task; giving it a touch of a candy floss frosting

Lemme know your hair saviours m' lovelies... Catch you all again soon

Loves, Ionwen XXX

... i canna believe it's been a week since m'last, but very 1st post... Time has just whizzed on by... Got a few wee things that are keeping m'VERY occupied at t'min but I promise to reveal all over future posts... Anyways enough of m'lame excuses, lets talk beauty...

I snaffled t'new Queen Bee Vaseline Lip Therapy from a recent beauty haul trip to Boots.  As t'name suggests, a smidge, this one is laced with honey.  It's delicious and m'lips felt really soft, moisturised n tasting tasty.  OK I have a wee confession here; I really don't drink enough water n so I find m'lips dry out horrendously, these tins of jelly work a treat in keeping them glossy n healthy all day long

I literally have a tin in all m'handbags, on m'work desk, beside m'bed n well everywhere.  I not only use them on m'lips (obviously) but on m'eyes (great for nourishing n thicken eyelashes), brows (keeps them from straying away) n cuticles (along with a few other needed places!!!)  Mind t'Rosy Lips really is only used on m'lips unless m'cuticles are in desperate need of some (rose tinted) TLC

To me Vaseline is actually a timeless beauty product classic n t'tin packaging just makes me swoon.  The price is, well OK not cheap, but then consider all the uses n benefits n it's a bargain multi-tasking beauty product.

Check out m'Instagram too because I picked up a Vaseline Lips carry case which is just too adorable for words.  Wee mirror in t'lid n keeps m'pot of t'fantastic stuff all safely tucked up inside.  I really am a sucker for cute wee things I tell ya!!!

So come on what is your must have cheap ass multi-tasking beauty product?!?

Until t'next time... Always a pleasure, never a chore...
